An Accident May Befall You At Any Instance, So You Need Short-Term Disability Insurance

Short-term disability insurance came to the forefront of my mind when, Last winter, my husband went out to get the mail, slipped on a patch of ice and went down. His ankle was hurt pretty badly and he was suffering for several days. We were quite relieved to learn that his ankle was sprained and not broken like we thought. We breathed a major sigh of relief that he wouldn’t have to deal with costly medical procedures and be out of work for a while.

This really got us thinking about what would happen if we were faced with another serious accident and did not have any short-term disability insurance. My husband performs contract work, and as such does not have a regular employer who can provide health insurance. We figured it was time to locate a private insurance provider who could get us short-term disability insurance. This was easier said than done, especially since we didn’t have the foggiest idea where to actually start.

We discussed calling an insurance agent, and finally decided to do so. We realized our error as we endured an hour and a half learning about cabin insurance even thought we were direct to the agent that we did not have a cabin. Needless to say, we felt upset. Why was it so difficult to locate a plan that made sense and didn’t require a doctorate to grasp? Our next idea was to look at online sources, but there was so much conflicting information that we were unsure how to differentiate between legit insurance plans and fraudulent ones.

One feature that we also required in an insurance plan was maternity health insurance which was even tougher to find than the short-term disability insurance. We were not expecting a baby any time soon, but we had examined the possibility and did want to have kids before we got too much further into our 30′s. Although it seemed easy enough, we just could not find a good plan that would give us both maternity benefits and short-term disability benefits.

It was just so hard to know what to do, as there was no one available to give us help and suggestions on sorting through the distinct plans available. It seems that there is a problem with how health insurance plans are presented to the general public, especially people who do not find their employment in the traditional way. In the end, after weeks of looking, we were told about a website that had the appropriate information told to us in an honest way.

You will find the desired information at Short Term Disability Insurance or Infertility Insurance.
